For many people, purchasing a used Mahindra XUV500 in Bangalore turns out to be like a walk in the minefield. They missed one small detail and the whole deal became a bad experience of them. However, that does not mean that the decision to buy a used car was a wrong decision. Where they went wrong is in the way they approached the whole process.
Don’t be in a Hurry to Sign Off Inspection
A lot of people end the inspection phase after reviewing the inspection report or after getting their mechanic to take a look at the car. At the most they will ask the dealer to fire up the engine so that the mechanic can get a feel for it.
We would say do not be in a hurry to complete the inspection. In fact, the best way to judge the condition of a car is by taking a test drive. Ask your dealer how long you can take the car for a test drive. A test drive will let you know if the steering wheeling is jiggling or not. A test drive will tell you if the car wobbles. You can feel if the car gets pulled on one side when you apply the brakes. All these things can be felt and identified as potential problems only after a test drive.
Check the Car in Daylight
Although this may sound very casual it can make a huge difference. Natural light affects the view of things and it can change the way you see a car. You can notice minor wear and tear on the upholstery of the car better in natural light. Scratches and dents on the body become more evident. So it is always better to conduct the naked eye inspection of the car in broad daylight.
