4 Gluten-Free Recipes to Try in Your Bread Maker

Gluten is a protein, which is found in wheat, rye and barley. It is the ingredient that helps the food made out of these like bread and pasta to hold their shape. There is a small percentage of a population that suffers from a celiac disease in which a person cannot tolerate gluten. Eating a little amount of it can trigger an immune response resulting in damaging the lining of the small intestine. Apart from this population, there are people who prefer gluten-free diets as they believe it helps them shed extra weight and feel energetic and healthier.

Corn Bread

To make corn bread in your bread maker, all you need to do is crack 3 eggs in a bowl, add 300ml milk, 1Tbsp of lemon juice to it and whisk together. Next, add 175gm of melted unsalted butter, 250gm of maize flour, 1tsp of salt and 1tbsp of gluten-free baking powder. Mix all together and pour it in the container of your bread maker. Press the predefined gluten-free bread setting on it and wait for the bread maker to covert these ingredients into a nice loaf of bread.

Linseed Brown Bread

Linseed is often tagged as a superfood. So, why not try this gluten-free loaf with linseed in it? For this, you need to whisk together 1 egg and 350 ml of water and pour it in your bread maker container. Add 1tsp lemon juice, 2tsp of brown sugar, 3tbsp sunflower oil, 50gm each of quinoa and buckwheat flour, 1½tsp salt, 1tsbp each of xanthan gum, gluten-free baking powder, active dried yeast and linseed to it. Set your bread maker to basic bread setting. Once it is done, leave it for some time to cool and then cut and enjoy.

White Bread

You can even bake gluten-free white bread in your bread maker using the below ingredients. Whisk 2 eggs, 300ml of milk, 1tsp vinegar and 6tsps of oil in a bowl. Once smooth, pour it in the bread pan. Add to it 450g gluten-free white bread flour along with 1tsp of salt and 2tbsp of sugar. Sprinkle 2tsp of active quick yeast and select gluten-free bread setting on your machine. Sit back and relax while the machine does all the hard work.

Banana, Cinnamon and Resin Bread

Whisk together 3 eggs, 315ml water and 45ml melted butter.  Pour in the bread tin and add 1 mashed banana, 450 gm rice flour, 80ml tapioca starch, 180g potato starch, 2tbsp of skimmed milk powder, 3tbsp brown sugar, 1tsp each of xanthan gum, plain gelatine and ground cinnamon and a handful of raisins to it. Lastly, sprinkle 2tsp of active yeast and set the machine on gluten-free bread or basic bread setting.
